Refund rules before you subscribe
Refund rules are a stack, not a single answer
Before paying for an AI companion app, check the billing route, product type, timing, token or coin use, renewal status, and cancellation path. A refund question is usually a stack of rules, not a single answer.
Quick check
Do not treat refund as one rule. Check the whole stack.
Refund outcomes can depend on where you paid, what you bought, when you ask, whether tokens or media were used, and whether Apple, Google, or the app controls the route.
60-second verdict
- Main riskA cancellation can stop future billing without reversing a past charge.
- Most important splitSubscription, renewal, token pack, coin pack, custom media, and app-store purchase.

What to save
Save the receipt, billing platform, account email, plan name, renewal date, cancellation confirmation, and the policy page you relied on. Those details matter if you need support later.
Start with billing route
The first question is where the payment happened. If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, platform rules and platform support pages may matter. If you subscribed on the app website, the app's web checkout and terms may control the main route.
Separate purchase types
A recurring subscription is not the same thing as a token pack, coin pack, custom-media purchase, or add-on. Read the policy for the exact thing you are buying.
Cancellation is future-facing
Cancellation commonly stops future renewals. It does not automatically mean a previous payment will be reversed. Check renewal timing before the next charge.
Usage can matter
Some policies treat unused time, buyer remorse, token use, media use, custom content, or delivered digital goods differently. Make the check before you spend included credits or coins.

FAQ
Questions to settle before paying.
Is cancellation the same as a refund?
No. Cancellation usually addresses future billing. A refund is a separate policy question that depends on app terms, platform rules, product type, timing, and usage.
Does deleting an app cancel a subscription?
Do not assume that. App-store and web subscriptions usually require a separate cancellation step through the billing route used for purchase.
Can Apple or Google Play handle refunds?
Sometimes the platform controls part of the route, but eligibility still varies. Check Apple or Google Play support and the app's own policy before relying on a refund.
Are token or coin purchases treated like subscriptions?
Not always. Some apps treat digital credits, coins, custom media, or token packs separately from recurring subscriptions.
Is this legal advice?
No. This is a pre-pay checklist for understanding common policy layers. Check the current official terms and contact the platform or provider for your account.
