Cancellation checklist
Deleting the app may not cancel the subscription.
Use this checklist before paying for an AI companion app. Subscription cancellation, account deletion, data deletion, renewal timing, and platform billing can be separate steps.
Quick check
Find the billing route before you need to cancel.
The safest time to understand cancellation is before payment. Check whether billing lives on the web, Apple, Google Play, PayPal, card checkout, or inside account settings.
60-second verdict
- Main riskCancellation route can depend on the platform used to subscribe.
- Common mistakeDeleting the app is not the same as canceling the subscription.
- Refund riskVerify before paying unless the current policy and platform rule are clear.
- Testing statusBased on linked official pricing, help, terms, and privacy pages, plus public signals. Paid hands-on test: not completed yet.
Before paying
Find the exact cancellation route, the renewal schedule, and the refund rule before you subscribe. If the app routes billing through Apple, Google, or another platform, the platform may control part of the cancellation or refund process.
Cancellation is a billing action
Treat cancellation as a billing task, not just something you do inside the app. The route can change depending on whether you subscribed on the app website, Apple App Store, Google Play, PayPal, card checkout, or another processor.
Refunds are a separate question
A successful cancellation may stop future renewals without creating a refund for a past charge. Read refund policy wording before payment, especially for unused time, buyer remorse, and digital-subscription rules.
Account deletion is separate
Account deletion, privacy deletion, and subscription cancellation are different controls. If you are privacy-sensitive, find the data deletion path before entering private details or uploading media.
Receipts matter
Keep the account email, billing platform, receipt, renewal date, and support route. These details are the fastest way to understand which cancellation path applies if you later need help.
App-by-app cancellation notes
Cancellation and refund notes for the first four apps.
These notes come from the current Companion Cost data layer and official source references. They are not hands-on claims and should be rechecked before purchase.
Cancellation: Official terms and help center say subscription details are under My Profile / Settings and cancellation is through Settings / Unsubscribe. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period.
Refund: Official terms describe a 24-hour refund request window for subscription/non-token purchases, denial if more than 20 tokens were used, separate token-purchase limits, card-purchase limits, and EU/UK withdrawal rules. Verify the exact current terms before relying on a refund.

Data deletion: Official legal/privacy page was checked for privacy-rights and disclosure categories. The exact in-app account deletion or data request route still needs product or support-path confirmation before stronger claims are used.

FAQ
Questions to settle before your first renewal.
Is deleting an AI companion app the same as canceling?
Usually you should not treat app deletion as cancellation. Check the platform where you subscribed and cancel through that route before renewal.
Are refunds guaranteed if I forget to cancel?
No guarantee is claimed here. Refund rules differ by app and platform, and several official policies describe digital purchases as limited or generally final.
Does account deletion stop future billing?
Do not assume it does. Treat cancellation, account deletion, and data deletion as separate tasks until official wording says otherwise.
Which app is easiest to cancel?
Companion Cost does not claim a universal winner. The safer question is whether the exact route for your purchase platform is documented before you pay.
